Kathmandu 20 Dec: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has said that the UML has made various proposals to the Nepali Congress to break the current alliance. Speaking at a program organized by the Socialist Press Organization in the capital on Monday, Prachanda said that the UML had broken the current alliance and proposed to run a one-party government led by the Congress.
However, Prachanda said that Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba had told him that he would continue the alliance in any case.
“The UML has offered to allow the Congress to break the alliance and run the government alone and help pass the MCC,” Prachanda said. “Prime Minister Deuba has said that he is not in favor of breaking the alliance under any circumstances.”
He said that the obstruction of the parliament was still on the way of UML Chairman Oli’s regression. He said that the demand of the UML was against the decision of the Supreme Court not to use the party’s whip when it was formed as per Article 76 (5) of the Constitution.
He argued that Oli had taken counter-revolutionary steps to dissolve the House of Representatives in self-defense and was still on the path to regression.
In a program organized in Kathmandu on Monday, Prachanda recalled that the majority members of the then Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) had taken action against Oli after the dissolution of the House of Representatives. “If the Election Commission had acted in accordance with the Constitution, the Act and the precedent of yesterday, KP Oli would have been without a party. The sun sign was already ours, ‘he said, adding that his position as the helpless party would be fragile. According to the big conspiracy, he was saved. ‘
Oli also admitted defeat and registered a new party, but claimed that he was saved by the people who were taken to the election commission unconstitutionally.
