Issue of MCC does not break alliance: NC leader Lekhak

Kathmandu. Ruling party Nepali Congress MP and leader Ramesh Lekhak has said that the current five-party alliance will not be broken due to the Millennium Challenge Compact (MCC) agreement on US assistance.

“The ruling coalition will not be broken because of MCC,” the Lekhak told Nepalpage . While the UML leaders were giving the message to the Congress that the UML was ready to pass the MCC on the condition of breaking the ruling coalition.

Leader Lekhak also mentioned that the challenges in the five-party ruling coalition should be managed through discussion. He says, “The ruling coalition is not in a position to collapse, nor should it collapse.” Even if there are some challenges, we have to face them and move forward by managing the discussion through consultation. ‘

The issue of MCC was also discussed at a meeting of the ruling coalition held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Sunday. The meeting could not reach a concrete decision on whether to move the MCC forward or not.
