Kathmandu : Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has made preparations for the expansion of the Council of Ministers. Deuba, who has been criticized for not being able to expand the cabinet for nearly 70 days, is now expanding the cabinet.
A meeting held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Tuesday evening has decided to expand the cabinet. According to a coalition leader, the meeting agreed to make Dr Narayan Khadka a foreign minister. He is a member of the Nepali Congress Central Committee and represent from Udaypur District.
It was agreed to make Khadka a minister after he had to continue representing the Nepali team in the UN General Assembly. Sources say he will become foreign minister.
From Tuesday’s cabinet meeting, it was decided that the Foreign Minister would lead the team to the General Assembly.
Similarly, the cabinet meeting also decided to recall the ambassadors appointed by the Oli government on political grounds. A coalition meeting was held immediately after the cabinet meeting.
The coalition meeting was attended by top leaders of the ruling coalition.
