ABC Television Enters 14th Year of Establishment: ‘The Rise of ABC to Audiences’

Kathmandu, 4 Sept : ABC News Television has entered its 14th year of establishment. ‘This time is not short. However, the 13-year period spent with the people has seemed too short. When only the past work is given to the present, then even a short time can take a long time. But, we have always been working today, not yesterday. In this way, the love and creative support of the people is making us stronger. This is the key to ABC’s success.’ Chairman Shubha Shankar Kandel has given a message on the occasion of annual anniversary.

On the occasion of the 14th anniversary of ABC Television, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief Shubha Shankar Kandel expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the well wishers and audience for their support in the development and progress of Television.

Chairman Kandel has also urged all his viewers and well-wishers and the general Nepali people to help the television program by being cautious as usual.

Chairman Kandel said ‘Expressing our commitment to never fail in truthful, factual and credible work, we have always strived to reach out to as many viewers as possible using technology. The continuation of the work started and the beginning of new work is the ABC Mission. We never fail in truth, facts and credibility and never shy away from new uses.’

Chairman Kandel’s message in brief :

While a new political course was being launched in the country, ABC had emerged among the viewers to give a new taste in Nepal’s television arena with new ideas, enthusiasm and presentation. ABC is the first news channel of the Republic of Nepal. Launched via satellite, ABC’s motto was Accuracy, balance, Credibility, and the campaign was to “awaken villages, cities and the world,” which continues to this day. 24-hour news and current affairs programs are broadcast continuously.

Carrying the new responsibility of building a prosperous country through stable politics with the consciousness of change, Nepali television has been walking in a different direction in the sky, with the immense love and support of millions of viewers. We, who were present in the audience immediately after the first election of the Constituent Assembly, always ran in a different direction. In other words, we preferred to walk on the theme that the country should move forward in a new republican consciousness. For the change of the nation and the people, the ABC had taken the formula that the agenda should be raised in the interest of the nation and the people, not by picking up the speeches of the leaders. Yes, we have always been at the forefront of the political agenda. We are proud to say that.

With the promulgation of the new constitution by the Constituent Assembly, the people’s representative body, the country has moved to a federal republic system. In order to make the election of all three levels successful, ABC reached out to the people all over the country and slammed Singha Durbar. ABC has been warning for a prosperous democracy including good governance in the country.

Our reporter has reached Lipulek carrying ABC’s boom, slipping on the cliff. The ABC logo has never disappeared in the dark when it comes to livelihoods. From the food crisis in Humla, Jumla Dolpa, ABC showed the scene where the rice that was brought to the relief of the state was made local. From Dhading to Jumla, we also narrated the pain of having to make a living by hanging on the river Tuin. In the unnatural state of being destroyed by the earthquake, we were able to suppress the wounds of our own suffering and continue to broadcast. ABC launched a campaign to rescue and provide relief to the victims. Gathered relief materials and helped with the panic people.

ABC was the first to report from Ground Zero on the devastating floods in the Terai, not just in Kathmandu and the hills.
The scope of ABC reporting is not limited to the four corners of the country. ABC’s on-the-spot reporting covers topics ranging from the historicity and beauty of Mansarovar-Mount Kailsah, located at the top of the world, to the US election. Since the high-level visit of the Head of State, ABC has reached important opportunities in the neighboring countries. As Covid 19 continues to plague the country, we are risking our health to keep the public informed. Therefore, we never thought twice to raise the issue of public health and basic issues with the government.
