JSP removed Mahanta Thakur and 16 leaders, EC ratified, Yadav make single Party Chair.

Kathmandu. The Election Commission has updated the new details of the Central Executive Committee of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP).Along with the update, 16 leaders, including Mahanta Thakur, have expelled the party.

With the update of the commission, the central executive committee of the party has dropped from 51 to 35 members. Secretary of the Election Commission Suresh Adhikari informed Nepal Page that only Upendra Yadav has been retained as the party’s chairman.

After the commission gave official status to his party, Upendra Yadav’s faction had submitted documents including minutes of the meeting to the commission to update the new details.

As soon as the commission updated its details, Mahanta Thakur has expelled from the post of chairman and also from the post of central executive committee member.

Secretary Adhikari said that the Central Executive Committee has been updated and he will not run for the post on the basis of this.

Until the party takes action, they will remain as ordinary members of the party. Along with Thakur, leaders Rajendra Mahato, Sarat Singh Bhandari, Anil Jha, Laxman Lal Karna and Sarvendra Janath Shukla have also lost their posts.
Until the party takes action to quit the party, the parliamentary seats of the leaders including Thakur will remain.

While Thakur was removed from the post of chairman in Kathmandu, Thakur is campaigning to form a new party In district of Madhes as the ‘chairman of JSP’.
