Kathmandu : Stating that the role played by banks and financial institutions in the development of entrepreneurship, production and employment promotion is important, Finance Minister Janardan Sharma said that the government would address the demand of this sector.
In a meeting with the delegation of the Federation of Banks and Financial Institutions of Nepal today, the Finance Minister said that the suggestions presented by the federation were relevant and positive and would be implemented after a detailed study and discussion.
Minister Sharma said that the Ministry of Finance was positive to cooperate with the federation for the maximum utilization of funds under social responsibility. The Finance Minister requested for further discussions with the Confederation before the issuance of the white paper being prepared by the Ministry of Finance. The delegation briefed the Finance Minister on the economy being weighed down by the Corona virus infection and the current dire situation created by it, and requested the Ministry to address it.
CNI President Pawan Kumar Golyan said that the Ministry of Finance and the private sector would work together to uplift the economy weakened by the effects of COVID-19 and floods.
Special emphasis has been laid on a comprehensive strategic plan to create employment opportunities by producing about 10,000 new entrepreneurs by conducting training on entrepreneurship development in the same province in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance.
