Soft Madhav’s strict mood, Aggressive Oli’s satirical style : ‘Impossible Unity’

Kathmandu : Instead of settling the dispute within the CPN-UML, it is getting worse. In recent political developments, CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli seems to have become somewhat flexible. But senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has become aggressive towards Oli.

Madhav Nepal’s character was soft and generous. In the same way, Oli had become a character who did not move in a stern manner. The nature of both of them has changed.
According to UML leader Gokarna Bista, it is very unlikely that the two leaders will be in the same party immediately. We are striving for unity. Keep doing But it doesn’t look like it will be successful immediately, Bista told NepalPage.

Similarly, Vishnu Rimal, a leader close to KP Oli, says, “When Madhav has decided not to join the Party, we have suggested to Chairman Oli why we should not be so hard on unity because of you.
Even though Oli seems a bit soft, Madhav is giving an expression that Nepal can find excuses rather than strengthen unity.

After the demise of the people’s leader Madan Bhandari, the main party led the UML for 15 consecutive years. He had the opportunity to lead a strong party for a long time but he was always portrayed as a leader who could not take decisive steps in important political mode. That image was the one that bothered him the most.

The UML used to comment that its leadership would play a good game but not score a goal. He was as stunned as he was when he presented himself as a simple and straightforward leader, as much as he was hurt when he was portrayed as a leader who did not stand.

As soon as he came under the leadership of UML, the Maoist conflict started. As the dominance of the rebel Maoists grew, Madhav Nepal worked hard to bring them into the peace process.

There was competition and maneuvering between the political forces in both strategies to control the Maoists by force or to bring them into the peace process through negotiations.

The then president of the Nepali Congress, Girija Prasad Koirala, led a course to bring the Maoists into the mainstream of politics.

A peace process began between the government and the rebel Maoists. On historic occasions, including the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement, the two leaders have always been the main protagonists – Prime Minister Koirala on behalf of the state and Maoist Chairman Prachanda, leading the rebel side.

When the two leaders shook hands, the leader stood on the edge of Nepal and applauded. KP Oli was more like a spectator.

On the one hand, Koirala, who is also the Prime Minister and President of the Nepali Congress, and on the other hand, Prachanda, who came into mainstream politics after leading a ten-year armed struggle, prevailed.

Madhav Nepal was upset that only Koirala and Prachanda were presented as leaders of the peace process.

The main feature of Nepal’s working style is coordination. His special emphasis was on maintaining a clean image.

Oli, on the other hand, adopted the exact opposite strategy. He always seems to have an aggressive style and an intention to leave the mark of an influential leader. Oli did not fear that standing on one side would make him unpopular. In Nepal, however, there is always the fear of becoming greedy and unpopular.

Nepal, which has focused on creating a coordinated and clean image in its long political career, seems to be determined to fight against the ‘shaky’ image it has to bear after falling behind in the competition with Girija Prasad Koirala, Prachanda and Oli. For that, he is engaged in building an aggressive image now.

Even if no one else in the UML votes for Deuba, I will vote for him alone. I will keep my promise, “he said publicly. When Deuba seeking vote of confidence in the parliament.

This is the major change in Nepal’s style of advocating for collective decision making.
Nepal, which has always felt in the shadows when presented as a coordinating and flexible leader, has now adopted a violently aggressive and risky style. Perhaps now, even if he is criticized for something else, the criticism that he is ‘shaky’ may not be valid.

Right or wrong, he has begun to build his image as a leader who stands by what he thinks and implements it firmly.

Leaders of both the factions are of the view that Madhav Nepal is now determined to form a new party through struggle and not to compromise with Oli.

Madhav Nepal has assured Prachanda and Sher Bahadur Deuba of the same. Even the external power center has to fulfill the promise given by Madhav Nepal. In addition, a special source on NepalPage has claimed that both Oli and Nepal’s were assured that they would not get along with each other four months ago.
