Oli’s standing committee meeting boycotted by Madhav faction, Shankar Pokharel says unity efforts were wasted

Kathmandu : CPN-UML Standing Committee Member and UML Unity Task Force Member Shankar Pokharel has made public Madhav nepal’s disagreement of the 10-point report prepared by the Task force.
Pokhrel wrote the status on Facebook on Sunday and mentioned that three months of hard work was wasted.
“Three months of hard work have been wasted since Madhav Nepal disagreed with the task force’s report,” Pokhrel wrote.
Members of the UML task force met Madhav Kumar Nepal at his residence in Koteshwar on Sunday morning. Shankar Pokharel was also present at the meeting.

A task force was formed in the CPN-UML to unite Madhav Kumar Nepal and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. The ten-member task force had agreed to move forward together on July 11.
After the discussion with Nepal, Gokarna Bista, an MP in the task force, said that they have urged Nepal to implement the 10-point agreement.
“We met Chairman KP Sharma Oli yesterday and asked him to implement the 10-point agreement made by the task force,” Bisht said. “Today, we also told Comrade Madhav to be honest in implementing the 10-point agreement.”
Members of both sides in the task force went to Oli’s residence in Balkot on Saturday evening and to Nepal on Sunday morning.

According to Bisht, Nepal did not respond to the request of the task force members.
As the party is in the process of uniting, the Nepali MPs in the task force are in favor of not giving a vote of confidence to Prime Minister Deuba right now. Leader Nepal, on the other hand, is in a position to give a vote of confidence to Deuba.
During the meeting, the task force members questioned to Madhav Kumar Nepal where Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s proposal for a vote of confidence in Parliament came from suddenly ?
According to sources, the leader Nepal did not respond to a request for comment.

MPs from Madhav’s faction in the task force are in favor of not giving a vote of confidence to Deuba.

On Saturday, Oli rejected a request from party chairman Oli to stop the standing committee meeting. Today, Oli has resumed the meeting of the standing committee unilaterally. Members of the Madhav faction’s standing committee were absent in this meeting.
