No interim order in the writ petition of Mahanta Thakur

Kathmandu : A writ petition filed by JSP’s Mahanta Thakur faction in the Supreme Court against the Election Commission’s decision has refused to give an interim order. A single bench of Justice Kumar Regmi on Sunday refused to issue an interim order as per the petitioner’s demand and summoned both the parties for a discussion on July 30.

077 Asar 14 BS was registered with the Election Commission on July 8. For the purpose of resolving the dispute over the party’s official status, the commission had called the members of the Central Executive Committee on July 26, saying that the members of the Central Executive Committee should be identified in person.

Thakur had filed a writ petition at the apex court against the commission’s decision that the members of the executive committee should be present with citizenship.
