It was decided before 27th of Baishakh that Oli and Nepal would not get along under any circumstances

Kathmandu : Unnaturally revoking the registration of the then CPN and restore the former groups, the CPN(UML) and the CPN (Maoist Center), was not only for the split of the CPN but also for the split of the UML.

The UML had handed over the party to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli after the de-registration of the CPN was almost on the streets, while Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Prachanda and Madhav Nepal were put in solitary confinement. In any case, the former party, the Maoist Center, came to power for Prachanda. But Madhav, the most enthusiastic member of the CPN in the controversy, was ousted. Its desperate aftershocks are still lingering.

When the Madhav faction sought power sharing with Oli on its own conditions, Oli devised a strategy to push the Madhav faction to the brink. Earlier, Oli had decided to take revenge on Madhav faction. Without hiding that, Oli has repeatedly pretended to be playing with the child to Madhav Nepal. Oli has also publicly expressed his displeasure to the Nepal faction.

But even if Madhav’s side seems to have done something else, it is only because of a legal hurdle.
By the time Baishakh 27,(10th April) Madhav Nepal had also decided not to agree with Oli under any circumstances. In order to bring this situation to an end, the external forces working for the split of the unified CPN had the gift of splitting the UML. This incident alone was certain to bring down a strong force called the Left force in Nepal.

A senior UML leader claimed that Oli and Madhav Nepal had met only recently due to pressure from the second tier leaders of both the sides.
After three days of discussions between the second tier leaders, Chairman Oli and senior leader Nepal met on Wednesday evening.

However, sources said that no agreement could be reached as both the leaders were in their respective positions. Madhav Nepal has returned disappointed after Chairman Oli, who is also the Prime Minister, expressed his unconditional support during the meeting on Wednesday.

While in informal talks and discussions in the working group, the leaders of Oli’s party said that they would agree to do anything after the meeting between the two leaders.

Oli, who had directed to withdraw the signatures from the case pending in the Supreme Court by holding a meeting of the Central Committee on July 3, made another announcement the next day. But the next day, Subash Nemwang, Vishnu Poudel and Shankar Pokharel reached at Nepal’s residence and offered to issue a joint statement.

Senior Nepal’s side leaders agreed and urged the task force to bring a draft joint statement. But Oli’s faction leaders said the task force was inactive and that two leaders needed to meet to revive it.

According to another member of the task force, the leaders of Oli’s faction had claimed that the contentious issues would be resolved after the meeting between Chairman Oli and senior leader Nepal. The leaders of Oli’s faction had conveyed the message that they could reach an agreement on power sharing and other issues.

But during the meeting, Chairman Oli did not put forward any proposal for consensus, nor did he want to discuss the issues that were not agreed upon in the task force.

A leader close to Nepal said that he only requested to withdraw the signature.
We did not talk about consensus on the issues we were raising. After that, even Madhav Nepal did not agree ‘, a leader close to Nepal told NepalPage.

Taskforce member Bhim Rawal also said that efforts would be made to reach a consensus. But none of Oli’s leaders wanted a formal response. This means that no one knows what Oli is trying to do. Everyone knows that it is not possible for Oli and Madhav Nepal to stay in the same party.

During the discussion held at Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence last week, Madhav Nepal had expressed his commitment to Deuba and Prachanda, never not to meet, let alone with Oli. The Oli faction believes that the power center, which is waking up Madhav Nepal, has also done its utmost to bring it to that level.

Similarly, Oli has also decided not to include 15 leaders including Madhav Nepal, Jhala Nath Khanal and Bhim Rawal in the party under any circumstances. The power center to reach that level is the same. Only the characters are different, claims a senior leader of UmL.
