A boat carrying eight Nepalese and 10 Bangladeshi migrants has crashed in the Caribbean Sea in Puerto Skondido, Colombia according to one of Bangladeshi newspaper published.

Although it has been confirmed that eight Nepalis were killed in the accident, no official information has been made public about how many people have died, where the bodies of the deceased are kept, and who has taken them to Colombia. Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Seva Lamsal said a family member had personally informed her that a Nepali had been died in a boat accident in Colombia.

Eight Nepalis were flown from Kathmandu by three different agents on different dates. It seems that Nepali agents are planning to smuggle all of them to Mexico via Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Guatemala and Mexico.
Organized agents of human traffickers had detained eight Nepalis in Colombia for the past two months, demanding their extradition to the United States. On the way to Colombia, all Nepalis seem to have spent around Rs 3 million on average. According to Janak, Angel alone had paid Rs 2.77 million to the agent.
