Kathmandu : In India, one of the countries most affected by the corona virus epidemic, the actual death toll from the epidemic has exceeded four million, according to a study.

According to official figures of India, the death toll from Covid-19 has risen to 414,000 so far, but the actual death toll is 10 times higher.

During the study, the researchers based their estimates on the annual mortality rates in seven different states, which make up half of India’s population. They also analyzed the international rates of age-related infectious deaths, the number of deaths from the virus, as well as data from a nationwide antibody test, the CERO Survey, and the Consumer Survey of India.

At the same time, the ongoing Corona virus epidemic has become one of the greatest human losses in modern Indian history since independence and partition.

According to a report released on Tuesday, the number of access deaths, calculated as the difference between recorded and expected deaths, has risen from 3.4 million to 4.7 million in India.

According to the study, prepared by the Center for Global Development, a think tank based at Washington and Harvard Universities in the United States, the deaths were not just the direct cause of the Covid 19 virus infection but the total death toll from the epidemic. This number is up to June 21 after the onset of the epidemic.

Analyzed the possibility of death from the method of international study. Based on all these analyzes, researchers have estimated that between 3.4 million to 4.7 million people have died in India so far due to the direct and indirect effects of the epidemic.

It is to be noted that India is also one of the countries with the largest economies in the world which has not officially received the official death toll from the epidemic.

The Center for Global Development estimates that the number of deaths due to epidemics in India is higher than other epidemiologists estimate. Some epidemiologists have claimed that the total number of deaths due to the corona virus epidemic in India could be only five to seven times higher than the current official figures.

Dr. Arvind Subramanian, one of the researchers who is also the former chief economic adviser to the Indian government, said his study showed that 4 million people had died in India during the Corona virusepidemic.
