Kathmandu : Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said there are serious questions over the impartiality of the Supreme court. Addressing a book launch at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Friday, Prime Minister Oli said that the issue was discussed before the court made its decision.
The Supreme Court had issued an interim order not to immediately implement the decision to expand the Council of Ministers, saying that the swearing in of the ministers and the division of duties were not in line with the constitution. The Prime Minister said that the impartiality of the court was in question as CPN-Maoist CentralChairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda had said that the court would do the same the day before.
He said, “Someone had announced the day before. How he did it is also amazing. The day before in Dhading, I have received information that the court will remove it tomorrow. Is justice fair or in other words? There is a rumor that the word ‘setting’ is very popular, otherwise the chickens will be lost the next day. How did that happen There is a serious question. ”
He said that every system should prove its authenticity and superiority by its own work, adding that it was dangerous to try to dismantle the system before that.
He claimed that those who doubted his patriotism wanted the role of foreigners in Nepal’s politics. Referring to the one of former prime minister’s remarks on foreign television, Prime Minister Oli said those who openly expected foreign intervention were the ones who commented on him as a boastful patriot.
PM indicated to Baburam Bhattarai : “I saw a former prime minister take part in a foreign television talk show. It should not be applied to micro management. You don’t get involved in micro management. Get involved in big things. Get involved in policy matters. Why are you allowing it to happen indiscriminately? He said. I was surprised. Still, they are pretending to be patriots. Another former prime minister openly says, “What have our democratic friends and neighbors seen?” Even so, what do you think? What should be done? Again, their patriotism is fake patriotism. Pretense is patriotism. ”PM oli indicating also Prachand’s remarks.
While acknowledging that there has been external interference in Nepal’s politics in the past, Prime Minister Oli said that such problems would be seen if politics was not allowed to function properly. “It simply came to our notice then. Has been happening. Not allowing politics to go to the bag of politics, not to decide politics even in the parliament, to take politics to the other side. After the court tried to make the decision of the prime minister. After seeking political decision from the court where political issues should be decided by political institutions or political parties. The court will talk about the constitution and the law. Not politics.
Prime Minister Oli said that the foreign policy of the democratic system would be democratic and the reflection of the domestic policy would be seen in the international forums.
Prime Minister Oli made it clear that he had taken Mahanta Thakur with him to unite against any attempt to bring anarchy against democracy and the constitution.
Prime Minister Oli said that those who call themselves democrats are now active in criticizing the President Bidhya Devi Bhandari. The Prime Minister argued that those who have a grudge against the republic and make the society unruly have done so.
He stressed, “Now there is a competition to oust the President. Those who have been able to insult the President, have been able to open their mouths, there is a big competition going on. Even yesterday, I had seen some ex-PMs Line at meet the press. They even went so far as to say that the king is better than the current president. ”
