Kathmandu, June 4: The government has urged all public and private hospitals to keep at least 20 percent of beds ready, saying the third and fourth waves of the epidemic could infect children.

The Ministry of Health and Population has written to all hospitals and health institutions on Friday requesting to keep 20 percent hospital beds for the treatment of children. Hospitals have also been asked to manage oxygen.

As the second wave has affected the youth and adults, the government has taken precautionary measures before the third and fourth waves to ensure the safety of the children.
