Kathmandu 18 May . The Indian government has discontinued plasma therapy for coronavirus infected patients. India has removed the method as it does not benefit the infected and does not improve the condition of critically ill patients.
At a meeting of the National Task Force for Covid -19 held last week, all participants were of the opinion that the method of extracting plasma from coronavirus and giving it to the infected should be removed from the corona treatment guideline.
An official with the Indian Council of Medical Research amended the directive to remove plasma therapy.
Earlier, scientists had said that plasma therapy would not help the infected person and that the treatment was not effective.
In Nepal, corona infections are also treated with plasma therapy.
