Five years imprisonment for attacking health workers:UML

Kathmandu May 31 . CPN-UML has demanded that those who attack doctors and health workers be sentenced to three to five years in prison.

On Monday, a team led by Khagraj Adhikari, chief of the party’s health and population department, met Health and Population Minister Hridayesh Tripathi and demanded strict legal provisions in the ordinance to amend the Health Workers and Health Institutions Security Act, 2066 BS.

The official’s delegation has demanded the minister to arrest and punish those who spread abusive, insulting and unfounded rumors against doctors and health workers on social media.

A team led by officials, including the former health minister, said double punishment should be provided in case a health emergency or disaster zone is declared or an infectious disease eradication or prevention order is issued. .
