Kathmandu 20 May : The Election Commission (EC) has said that it has drawn serious attention after Prime Minister KP Oli issued a press release against the code of conduct in the upcoming National Assembly by-election in Bagmati. After the election code of conduct has been implemented, Prime Minister Oli issued a statement on Wednesday, the day before the polling, asking UML candidate Ram Bahadur Thapa to cast his vote.
Despite the Commission’s request, the Code of Conduct has already been implemented.
Similarly, the Congress has also demanded action against Prime Minister Oli for violating the code of conduct in the National Assembly by-elections. Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has also objected to the violation of election code of conduct by Prime Minister Oli.
