Kathmandu, 21 April: CPN-UML leaders Madhav Kumar Nepal, Bhim Rawal and Ghanshyam Bhusal have filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court against the Prime Minister and party chairman KP Sharma Oli.

Leader Bhim Rawal said that the decision of Chairman Oli to form a general convention committee by dismissing the central committee and take action against them was against the party constitution and law.

According to Supreme Court Spokesperson Devendra Dhakal, his writ petition has not been registered even though it was filed today. They have brought a writ. But not registered. This is under study, he said.

They have also demanded an order to stop the action being taken against 27 leaders, activists and members of the House of Representatives.

The writ petition states that the leaders, activists and members of the House of Representatives have been asked for clarification and action has been initiated and the action taken to expel them from the parliament has been stopped.

They have even demanded to stop it as there is a strong suspicion that the chairman may take action against them for leaving the party at any time.

The Nepal Group has also demanded that the Central Committee meeting be convened immediately.

Oli has written a letter on Tuesday asking why he should not be removed from the post of member of the federal parliament.

It has also warned that further action could be taken at any time as it is against the party and against the popular government.

Madhav Nepal, Jhalanath Khanal, Bhim Rawal, Ghanshyam Bhusal, Surendra Pandey, Metmani Chaudhary, Pavitra Niraula, Zhapat Rawal, Yagya Raj Sunuwar, Jeevanram Shrestha, Bhavani Khapung, Virodh Khatiwada, Somprasad Pandey, Narayan Khatiwada, Ganesh Pahadi, Jayakumar Rai, Deepak Prakash Bhatt , Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai, Hirachandra Kes, Pushpa Kumari Karna Kayastha, Kalyani Khadka, Laxmi Kumari Chaudhary, Krishnalal Maharjan, Sarla Kumari Yadav, Niradevi Jairu, Ram Kumari Jhankri and Mukunda Neupane have been asked for clarification on April 20.
This incident has led to the analysis that the UML has reached a formal split deal.
