Country records over thousand cases of COVID-19 on Monday

Kathmandu, April 19: The COVID-19 cases were found increasing steadily in the country of late. Meanwhile, 1,281 new cases were registered on Monday itself. According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population Dr Jageshwar Gautam, 1,281 infections were identified while conducting PCR tests on 7,100 individuals. Spokesperson Gautam further shared that Kathmandu valley alone recorded 634 cases today. According to the Ministry, total case load in the country has reached 285,900 till today.

Similarly, 2,352,502 people have undergone test via PCR methods so far in the country. Dr Gautam added that 275,555 infected persons have recovered till today. A total of 255 infected persons have returned home in the past 24 hours. There are 4,056 active cases of the virus infection across the country. Ministry further shared that 7,254 infected patents are in home isolation in the country. Meanwhile, eight infected persons have died of COVID-19. The total deaths caused by virus have reached 3,091 so far in Nepal.
