Kathmandu, Dec 10:

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and head of the foreign affairs, related to India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Vijay Chauthaiwale, held a meeting in Baluwatar on Thursday.

It is reported that the two leaders had effective discussion on Nepal-India relations during the meeting.

The visit by a BJP leader, who is directing the party’s foreign affairs department, is taking place at a time of intraparty dispute among the leaders of ruling Nepal Communist Party NCP.  

Chauthaiwale has tweeted that he is visiting Nepal at the invitation of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP)’s General Secretary Bishnu Poudel.  

 It is noticed that the Indian ruling party leaders are seen to be visiting Nepal one after another within some time gap.  The recent visit of Chauthaiwale follows three back to back high-level visits from India within two months gap.

In October, Samant Goel, chief of India’s external intelligence agency visited Nepal which was followed by the visit of Indian Army Chief MM Naravane in November. 

Likewise, Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardan Shringla visited Nepal at the end of November.
