Salyan records first death from coronavirus infection

Salyan district recorded the first death case from coronavirus infection.

A 67-year-old man of Sharada Municipality-1 in the district died at Kohalpur of Banke in course of treatment. He was taken to Dang district for treatment after suffering from fever, cold and coughs few days ago but was referred to Kohalpur for further treatment after his health condition deteriorated. According to the Salyan District Health Service Office, the man died a day after his admitted to at the hospital.

Corona focal person at the Office, Rikharam Pun, said that the man’s PCR report was received after his death. Likewise, Shreenagar Bazaar in Salyan has been sealed off for a week after the death of the coronavirus infected man as some business persons there have developed symptoms of the coronavirus infection.

A total 550 people have tested positive for the virus in the district so far. Of them, 507 returned home after recovery.
