COVID-19: 2, 571 new cases reported

A total of 2,571 new cases of COVID-19 has been reported in the country in the last 24 hours. This includes 1,520 male and 1,051 female. It was found in a total of 11,177 RT-PCR tests done for Corona Virus in various laboratories across the country.

Likewise, in the same period 1,798 people recovered from the deadly virus. Also today, 18 people succumbed to the virus, taking the death toll to 1,126 to date, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. Total infections have reached 197,024 with a total of 1,551,254 RT-PCR tests done so far. On a gender basis, 67 per cent of the infected are male and 33 per cent are female. Currently, the active cases are 36,174 with 29,836 in home-based isolation. Likewise, 411 are undergoing treatment in ICU while 83 are with ventilator support.

Altogether 967 people are still in quarantine. Among those infected, 159,724 have recovered with the recovery rate standing at 81 per cent. The percentage of death is 0.6 per cent. In Kathmandu valley, 1,428 new cases of COVID-19 was reported with 630 female and 798 male.

The districts currently having more than 500 active cases are Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Makwanpur, Kavre, Kaski, Nawalparasi (E), Dang and Rupandehi. Manang has no active case.
