The government of Nepal has not made any decision on the reappointment of Kul Man Ghising as managing director of Nepal Electricity Authority. According to the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, there is a procedural obstacle for the reappointment of Kulman Ghising as an Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) .

However, the Energy Minister is seen positive to reappoint Ghising and he has said that talks have also been held between PM KP Oli and NCP executive Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal regarding the reappointment.

According to Energy Minister, Barshaman Pun, although the ministry is ready to table a proposal to Council of Ministers for Ghising’s reappointment, there are many procedural obstacles to be tackled.

Minister, Barshaman Pun has said that if Ghising is to be re-appointed, he should join the same process as before ie, he should come out of open competition since Ghising is a worthy and capable person.

The public had imposed pressure upon the government to continue Ghising. The cabinet has neither decided to reappoint him nor found a replacement after him

Ghising was appointed as executive chief of the authority for four years. We are not sure if the government will reappoint Ghising or select any other person in his position.
