Highest single-day rise in Covid-19 cases in KTM district

Kathmandu, September 15:

Kathmandu district, has reported 555 new cases of Corona infected people in the last 24 hours. The rise comes as the government stop ban across Nepal.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, a total of 676 people are infected on Tuesday only. The highest number of infected people are in Kathmandu Metropolitan City. Similarly, according to the ministry ,86 cases of corona virus have been confirmed in Bhaktapur and 35 in Lalitpur, on Tuesday .

Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health, Prof. Dr. Jageshwor Gautam has urged to take special care of the elderly and children as the number of infected people is increasing rapidly in the Kathmandu Valley. They have requested special care for patients with heart, diabetes and lung diseases. Despite the increase, the government has pressed ahead with easing restrictions.

Moreover, an upsurge of Covid-19 in many rural areas continues to be a major concern. Kathmandu district remains the most infected district so far. Similarly, the number of corona infected in the Kathmandu Valley has reached 12,924 in total.

A 86-year-old woman along with 34, 55, 66 and 96-years-old men of Kathmandu have died, according to the ministry, in the last 24 hours.
