Kathmandu , September 17 :

Additional 1,246 people have been infected with corona in Nepal in the last 24 hours.

 According to Ministry spokesperson Prof. Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, 1,246 people have been infected across the country in the PCR test done in various laboratories today. With this addition of infected people today, the total number of infected people across the country has exceeded 59,000. Till today, corona infection has been confirmed in 59,573 people.

Of those confirmed infected, 16,241 are recorded as actively infected. There are 8,541 people sitting in institutional isolation and 7,701 people in home isolation. Moreover, 1,243 infected people have recovered and returned home. According to the ministry, the number of recoveries has reached 42,949 so far.

PCR test of 10,641 people has been done, in the last 24 hours.

So far, the PCR test of 882,951 people has been done according to the ministry. There are 7,883 people in quarantine across the country.

An 87-year-old man died of the coronavirus,in Kathmandu.

Likewise, women aged 64 , 36, 57 years in Morang, Chitwan and Kailali respectively succumbed to the pandemic, today. Therefore, death toll has reached to 383 in total.
