At least six doctors of the State Hospital Surkhet have tested positive for coronavirus. According to the hospital source, the coronavirus diagnosed include two consultants and four medical officers.

One additional health worker has also been confirmed with the virus infection. Hospital Director Dr Dambar Khadka said there was a big inflow of infected people to the corona special hospital and the virus transmission risk was high from corona undiagnosed but infected people.

Currently 23 infected are undergoing treatment at corona special hospital. The hospital has closed down its OPD service for a week from today onward after confirmation of the virus among doctors.

Director Khadka said another decision would be made after reviewing the situation following a week. Earlier, three doctors of the hospital had contracted coronavirus.
