Rare king cobra found in a Chitlang house

A king cobra has been detected at Chitlang, Thaha Municipality-9 of Makawanpur.

Buddha Balami of Chitlang saw the cobra inside his house the night of August 23 and he rang up the Municipality ward chairman Parshuram Shrestha. Balami saw that the cobra was coiled on another snake found in the locality.

On Monday, members of the snake rescue group were called from Bhaktapur who rescued the nine feet 10 inches long cobra. It weighed four kilogrammes. After rescuing the king cobra, the members of the rescue group had made the locals aware about the king cobra.

The king cobra has been safely released in the Chandragiri forest at Chitlang, Shrestha said.
