Rakshyabandhan encourages us to be united: CM Poudel

Bagmati State Chief Minister Dormani Poudel has expressed his belief that festivals like Rakshyabandhan and Janai Purnima among others would encourage us to be united and help foster the feelings of brotherhood and fraternity.

In a message here today on the occasion of Janai Purnima and Rakshyabandhan festival that falls on full moon day of Nepali month Shrawan, CM Poudel has extended best wishes to all the Nepalis and wished them peace and prosperity. Stating that both festivals were religiously and culturally important festival for the Hindus, Poudel said, “In Hindu culture, we observe Janai Purnima by replacing the old Janai (sacred thread) and wearing the new one.”

On a different note, CM Poudel said that the COVID-19 pandemic had adversely affected our daily lives and caused difficulty for our day-to-day activities. “The cases of COVID-19 were on the rise lately in many districts in Bagmati State including Kathmandu.

That is why we urge all, especially the children and elderly, to stay indoors and observe safety measures.” Voicing for the need of the State government to take further action after analyzing the infection, the CM urged patience and confidence in the battle against the deadly infection.

“I extend my best wishes to all the Nepalis sisters and brothers on the occasion of Rakshyabandhan and Janai Purnima with a belief that these festivals may motivate us to be untied and foster the feeling of brotherhood,” the message read.
