Government ramps up enforcement of its decisions to check COVID-19 transmission

The government has stepped up monitoring of its decision to contain the outbreak of the coronavirus infection.

In order to ensure the effective enforcement of the cabinet decisions for the prevention and control of the virus transmission, the Home Ministry has directed its subordinate bodies and all district administration offices across the country. Of late the infection and death rate of the COVID-19 is on the rise. The situation is getting alarming owing to carelessness on part of the people in adhering to the safety protocols.

According to the Home Ministry, all the security bodies and district administration offices are coordinating to enforce the public health guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and Population and security guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home. It is shared that the government has mobilized five monitoring teams in Kathmandu and four each in Bhaktapur and Lalitpur to ramp up enforcement of the guidelines.

According to the information shared by the Home Ministry, so far 419,000 people were held for not wearing masks. As many as 7,635 vehicles and 19,483 passengers have been so far returned from the entry points to Kathmandu for not having Valley entrance permission.
