Four local levels in east Chitwan come up with restrictive order against COVID-19

Chitwan, Aug 16

Four local levels in the eastern Chitwan have decided to issue a restrictive order against coronavirus owing to the growing infections risk.

Ratnanagar, Khairhani, Kalika and Rapti municipalities have decided to implement the measures for a week beginning from this midnight. A joint meeting of the local governments today took a decision to this regard. Rapti municipality mayor Prabha Baral said the Chief District Officer (CDO) has been apprised of the decision.

‘’We see no alternative to implementing the restrictive measures against the virus as it continues to further spread,’’ she said. CDO Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said he was requested for the prohibitory order by four local levels in the eastern Chitwan.

With this, the district administration is issuing the order today through a notice.

Besides, the meeting has agreed to build a COVID-19 isolation facility at the Bakulahar Ratnagar Hospital and demand for the establishment of a COVID-19 laboratory in Ratnagar, mayor Baral said.
