The Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection Office Dhangadhi has rescinded 350 firms in Kailali and Kanchanpur districts in fiscal year 2019/20.

These firms were registered only for carrying out trade and business but could not do so due to various reasons, the Office said. Office chief Kamal Bahadur Pun Magar said 23 traders were made to pay fine immediately and inedible food stuff worth Rs 485 thousand 600 including the date-expired ones and without label, in course of the monitoring conducted during the last fiscal year.

He said that although they are required to carry out regular market monitoring in all the districts of the Sudurpaschim State, they have not been able to do so in the hill districts of the State due to shortage of resources including human resources.

One thousand three hundred forty one private and 26 partnership firms were registered in the two districts in fiscal year 2019/20.

Similarly, 2,188 firms were renewed. The Office collected revenue Rs 18 million 724 thousand 95 last fiscal year
