Stones pelted at police persons

Bajura, July 19

Two police persons were injured in an attack by locals trying to stop them from arresting a youth wanted on the charge of physical assault.

The incident took place on Saturday in ward no. 7 of Budhiganda municipality. A team of police had gone to arrest Dipak KC after a complaint was registered against him for assaulting local resident Paras Rawat. But the police came under attack of the locals upon reaching the village, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Tanka Prasad Bhattarai.

Paras Rawat, an entrepreneur at the Betalmadau market was allegedly beaten up by local youths led by Dilip KC. KC is the son of the chair of ward no. 7 in the municipality. The injured police personnel have returned home after treatment at the Balaypata hospital of Accham.

Meanwhile, police have launched a search for Dilip KC and others involved in the attack.
