Kanchanpur, July 17 

The Kanchanpur Police on Thursday night confiscated clothes and electric items while these products were being imported without paying tax. The confiscation was made from the Bhimduttanagar Bazar area at Bhimdutta municipality -4. The contraband which was loaded on two vehicles is worth of Rs 1.49 million, said District Police Office, Kanchanpur’s deputy superintendent of police Amar Bahadur Thapa. Acting on a tip-off, the security squad from the office seized goods being smuggled to the country. Vehicles used for transporting the smuggled goods and drivers have been handed to the Customs Office, Gaddachauki along with the contraband for further actions.
