Kathmandu 14 July: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has blamed India for encroaching even cultural facts of Nepal creating ‘fake Ayodyhya’, a mythological hometown of Rama. Stating that Nepal has been culturally suppressed, PM Oli claimed that Rama was born in Ayodhya in Nepal, not in Ayodhya, India.

Speaking at a function organized at his residence in Baluwatar, Kathmandu on monday to mark Bhanju Jayanti , the birth anniversary of poet Bhanu Bhakta Acharya, PM Oli claimed that lord Rama’s kingdom was located in Thori that lies to the west of Birgunj.

PM Oli opined , “ We, Nepalese , have been believing that we married off Sita to Ram , a prince from Ayodhya, India. But we did not marry off Sita  to Ram not of India but of Ayodhya , a Nepalese village west to Birgunj”. PM Oli said it is not the current Ayodhya. Balmiki’s hermitage is in Nepal and the Pandit ( priest) who performed Putresthi Yjna ( Special yjna organized in the hope of getting a son) was from Ridi, a famour religious place in Gulmi/Palpa. Therefore, PM Oli claimed that neither the baby ( Ram)  nor the place was India

Presenting his logic, PM Oli claimed that it was quite impossible to come to Janakpur for marriage with a large wedding procession since there had been no telephone and mobile. Oli asked how they could come to Janakpur from such a distant place in India and there was a tradition to seek a bride in nearby locations at that time. PM Oli said they came to Janakpur easily as it was near but it has been a contested history and impossible to reach the destination, a series of attacks… .  

Prime Minister Oli reiterated that despite the beginning and development of knowledge, science, literature and other human activities in Nepal , that could not get continuation. Oli’s concern over current inability to preserve the past heritage is of great significance. At the same program PM Oli unveiled a souvenir of ‘Himvat Khanda  Literary Program – 2020’.
