A person died after being buried by a landslide here last night.

The District Police Office, Dhading identified the deceased as Sanu Babu Pantha, 54, of Ranibari of Thakre rural municipality-6.

According to DPO’s information officer Deputy Superintendent of Police Rupak Khadka said the landslide fell from over a cowshed buried him to death as he was about to set the buffalo free so as to save the animal from getting hit by the landslide.

One buffalo and a goat were also killed in the disaster, according to a local Hari Thapa.

With this, the number of losing lives to the landslide-related incidents has reached five.
