Ward chair arrested with marijuana

Baglung, June 26 

Ward chair of Nisikhola rural municipality-6 in Baglung, Surya Bahadur Gharti, has been arrested for possessing marijuana. Acting on a tip-off, police this morning confiscated 86 kilos of contraband from his house, according to District Police Office Baglung’s information officer Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajendra Regmi. A squad led by Area Police Office, Burtibang’s police inspector Prakash Singh Bhandari arrested the local level people’s representative. He will be taken to the district headquarters for further investigation into the case, according to the office. It is said lab test of the sample of contraband is also to be conducted. New mother rescued Meanwhile, a new mother has been rescued after she suffered from excessive bleeding. Tirsana Shreesa, 19, of Barahakot, Bareng rural municipality-2 in Baglung district was airlifted to the Province Hospital Pokhara this morning. She was taken to Pokhara by helicopter. She had given birth at Hugdishir health post on Thursday evening. The new-born is in normal health condition, it is said.
