State 5 CM Pokharel’s best wishes on Bhume festival

Chief Minister of State-5 Shankar Pokharel today said Bhume festival has helped identify and conserve the Kham culture of Magar people. Issuing a message of best wishes on the occasion of Bhume festival, he said the festival has helped establish cultural identity of the entire Nepali society.

“Bhume celebrated by Kham speaking Magar community of Rolpa and Rukum is a special festival of our state. Festivals celebrated by different communities have played important roles for creating environment of unity and harmony in the diverse Nepali society,” he said in the message of greetings. He stated that the constitution has stressed the need for uplifting and developing all castes and communities and all indigenous, marginalised and backward communities have been equally treated by forming constitutional commissions.

“The state government has announced a public holiday in Rolpa and Rukum district to mark the festival. Efforts are on to uplift and develop all communities and groups in democracy,” reads the message of best wishes. —
