Kathmandu : The East-West Highway has been obstructed by local people who have been protesting the killing of an elderly man in a road accident near Banka in Krishnapur Municipality-1 in Kanchanpur district today morning.
The agitating local people and family and relatives of the deceased have obstructed transportation by putting the body of the deceased on the road. Local resident Taranath, 65, was killed when an indian number place jeep (DL 17 C 4754) that was headed to Jhalari from Bani hit him.
The police have held the jeep and its driver. Efforts are underway to clear the road, said the local administration.
