Kathmandu : The COVID-19 infection rate is decreasing in recent days. On Saturday, the country witnessed 1,268 COVID-19 infection cases against 1,756 on Friday.
The infection cases on Saturday were from the total 9,875 COVID-19 tests, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. Nine people died from the virus in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 10,818 so far. On Friday, 23 people died from the infection. So far, the number of active infection cases is 31,826 while the total 725,651 infected people have been free of the virus with 2,195 in the past 24 hours, said the Ministry.
On Saturday, the recovery rate stood at 94.5 percent against 94.1 on Wednesday, 94.2 on Thursday and 94.3 on Friday. In the country, the number of COVID-19 deaths is 364.6 per 1 million infection cases. Likewise, 554 infected people have been admitted to intensive care units at various hospitals and 172 are on a ventilator support.
Twenty nine thousand six hundred and fifty eight infected people are in home-isolation, 2,168 in institution-isolation and 274 at quarantine facility. So far, a total of 107,598 people have been vaccinated against the virus.
