Kathmandu. A meeting between Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Bharatiya Janata Party’s foreign affairs chief Dr.Vijay Chauthaiwale has taken place at the PM’s private residence in Baluwatar. Chauthaiwale has arrived in Nepal for a four-day informal visit at the invitation of the Nepali Congress. He had a courtesy meeting with the Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Deuba at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Sunday.
During the meeting, Chauthaiwale conveyed the message of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat. Chathaiwale, who is visiting Nepal from India after Deuba became the Prime Minister, is the highest level leader.
After Deuba became the Prime Minister, he had a telephone conversation with Deuba after Deuba’s Indian counterpart Modi. It is the responsibility of the Indian establishment to look after the affairs of Nepal.
During the visit, Chauthaivale will also hold political talks with another ruling party, CPN-Maoist Central Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda. According to the Indian embassy, he will also hold a courtesy meeting with KP Sharma Oli, chairman of the main opposition party UML.
Last year, Chauthaiwale visited Nepal at the invitation of then Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel. During that visit, he had lengthy talks with the then Prime Minister KP Oli.
