Kathmandu: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has directed to appoint Kulman Ghising as the executive director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).

According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, Prime Minister Deuba has instructed Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal to appoint Ghising as the Executive Director of NEA.

Hitendra Dev Shakya is currently the executive director of NEA.

On Tuesday, Energy Minister Bhusal met Prime Minister Deuba and briefed him saying that Shakya’s performance was not satisfactory. Deuba then forced Shakya to resign and appointed Ghising.
