Kathmandu: The case filed by four former Maoist lawmakers demanding reinstatement of their posts has not been resolved. All the four writ petitions were heard in a single sitting of Judge Deepak Kumar Karki.
The Supreme Court has informed that the writ petitions will not be heard for hearing.
UML standing committee members Lekhraj Bhatt and Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, central members Prabhu Sah and Gauri Shankar Chaudhary had filed a writ petition on Wednesday seeking reinstatement of their parliamentary seats. They had filed the case against the Chairman of the Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, the Secretariat of the Federal Parliament, the Election Commission and others. They had filed a writ petition seeking reversal of the opposition’s decision to release him from the post.
Prachanda, the leader of the Maoist parliamentary party, had written a letter to the General Secretary of the Federal Parliament on March 7, 2021 informing that the party had taken action against four lawmakers and left the party.
