Kathmandu : Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has given the responsibility of choosing the ministry and ministers to the leaders of the alliance. After holding a discussion with Chairman Prachanda on Thursday morning, Prime Minister Deuba asked the leaders of the alliance to sit down and agree on power sharing.
For that, Congress has appointed senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel, leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula and general secretary Purna Bahadur Khadka. Similarly, secret talks are being held between Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and Vice Chairman Narayan Kaji shrestha from the CPN (Maoist Center) and Upendra Yadav, Baburam Bhattarai and Ashok Rai from the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP).
A PM closed source has informed that the secret talks are being held between the leaders of the alliance around New Baneshwor. According to a source, the cabinet will be expanded today if there is an agreement between them on power sharing. Congress has claimed eight ministries, including the prime minister. Similarly, it is understood that the CPN (M) should have seven ministries and JSP six.
As senior UML leader Madhav Nepal faction has requested to retain the ministry in his name for a few days, power sharing between the NC, CPN (M) and JSP has not been possible. According to sources, the Nepal side has to demand six ministries. In such a situation, the leaders of Congress, Maoists and JSP are in a dilemma as to how to arrange power sharing.
