Kathmandu : All the lower level conventions of the Nepali Congress have been postponed.
A meeting of office bearers and former office bearers held today has decided to postpone the convention of all levels including the ward level convention to be held on July 27.
Leader Arjun Narasingh KC informed that the Central Working Committee meeting will announce the next schedule of the convention.
A meeting of office bearers held at the residence of party president Sher Bahadur Deuba has decided to postpone all the programs until the next schedule of the convention is finalized.
The Congress general convention is scheduled for the second week of August. However, after the membership dispute was not resolved and the lower level convention was postponed, discussions have started on the alternative of the general convention.
The leaders said that the measures and options for holding the general convention were also discussed in today’s meeting of office bearers. Discussions have been held on the options of holding the General Convention with full representatives, convening only the Central Working Committee and the Provincial Committees or considering legal and constitutional measures to postpone the General Convention.
