Kathmandu : Power Generation Company Limited has barred to Managing Director (Executive Chief) Anantraj Ghimire working as Managing Director.

The company’s board of directors meeting held on Tuesday has given Ghimire 15 days to clarify the letter from Midwestern University. According to company sources, Ghimire has been barred from working as the chief executive until then.

The university had written a letter to the energy secretary asking him to provide official information about the appointment.

Ghimire has been suspended after the news of taking political leave from Midwestern University and taking political appointment in a company under the Ministry of Energy became public .

“After he said he had no weaknesses and would bring the necessary documents for verification, the board of directors stopped him from working for a while and gave him time to do so,” said one operator.

Presenting the example of some professors who are taking leave from other universities and working elsewhere, Ghimire has submitted his claim to the board of directors.
