13 MPs from Far West urge Bhim Rawal to withdraw his resignation

Kathmandu : A team of 13 CPN-UML members from the far-western provinces has urged UML vice-chairman Bhim Rawal to withdraw his resignation from the federal parliament. A team of MPs and ministers from the far-western provinces reached his residence and demanded his resignation.

“We asked him to withdraw his resignation,” said one of the team leaders. “He did not respond.”

Rawal had informed the resigning team for party unity. The members of the team withdrew their resignation and demanded to stand for party unity.

Rawal had resigned from the House of Representatives on Sunday. He announced his resignation before Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba took a vote of confidence.

Thirteen MPs, including Prakash Bahadur Shah, Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning, Purna Joshi, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law, Lal Bahadur Khadka, Minister for Social Development, Dirgha Sodari, Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development, and 13 others, including UML Far West Whip and Purbashet, had demanded his resignation.

Although the UML had hoped for unity after the 10-point agreement, Rawal understood that it had added challenges to its implementation. On Sunday, 22 UML lawmakers, including senior leader Madhav Nepal, gave a vote of confidence to Deuba against the party’s decision.

Although the UML had hoped for unity after the 10-point agreement, Rawal understood that it had added challenges to its implementation. On Sunday, 22 UML lawmakers, including senior leader Madhav Nepal, gave a vote of confidence to Deuba against the party’s decision. Earlier, there were eight MPs in favor of KP Oli and the remaining 14 belonged to the Madhav Nepal group.

The 10 lawmakers who have always supported Madhav Nepal had voted against the vote of confidence. There are 11 proportional MPs out of 22 in Madhav’s party who voted for Deuba.

During the meeting, Madhav’s party MPs told Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba that the parliament and the constitution had been saved by taking a vote of confidence. “It is not always the case that Deuba is considered a leader. The current situation has created such a situation,” said another leader.
