Kathmandu. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on receiving a vote of confidence from Parliament. Modi tweeted congratulations to Deuba. It was announced that Deuba had received a vote of confidence from the House at around 10 pm. Less than half an hour later, his Indian counterpart Modi congratulated Deuba.
Wishing Deuba a successful tenure, Modi said he would work together to further the unique partnership and relationship between the two countries.
Modi congratulated Deuba today as the issue of not congratulating Modi for a week after Deuba was appointed as the Prime Minister was much discussed in Nepal. After receiving a vote of confidence, Deuba will run the government for almost two years for the remainder of the this parliament term.
