Kathmandu : Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is also the CPN-UML chairperson, and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal had a telephone conversation.

Talks were held between Chairman Oli and Leader Nepal on the eve of the Central Committee meeting.

Leaders close to Oli said that talks were held between Nepal and Oli on Thursday evening.

After dissolving the organizing committee of the 10th general convention, Oli has called a meeting of the central committee for 11 am today. But the decision not to participate in the meeting is up to the members of the Standing Committee of the Nepali side.

The leaders informed that a telephone conversation was held between Chairman Oli and Nepal on issues including participation in the meeting and party unity.

Secretary of the party office Sher Bahadur Tamang said that a telephone conversation took place between Chairman Oli and the leader. “Chairman Oli has continued his efforts for party unity,” he said.

According to Tamang, the central committee meeting will be held in Baluwatar at 11 am today. He informed that the meeting will be held in a tent in the open field of Baluwatar as there is lack of space in the party office Thapathali.

Leader of the Nepal side Bhim Acharya said that there was a telephone conversation between Chairman Oli and the leader Nepal. He also said that the talks will be continued.

Acharya also said that they have demanded to postpone the Central Committee meeting scheduled for today.

‘Postponing the meeting sends a good message for party unity. We have asked to move the meeting. If the meeting is not moved and held, then it will be a meeting of the faction and what is the meaning of that meeting?

The Nepali side had signed on to make Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba the Prime Minister. After the signing, relations between Oli and the Nepali side were strained.
