‘Nepal is a country full of plurality, a single state is not acceptable’: Deputy Prime Minister Mahato

Kathmandu, April 5: Leader of the Janata Samajwadi Party and Newly appointed Deputy Prime Minister Rajendra Mahato said that it was necessary to have a plural state instead of a single state in Nepal.

Speaking at a reception held for the newly appointed ministers at the party office on Saturday, Mahato reiterated that Nepal is a country full of plurality and it is necessary to be a plural state and not a single state. Stating that different communities are lagging behind due to a single state, he said that a state based on plurality should be run as there is a pluralistic community. He also instructed the newly appointed ministers to work with the party’s policy in the forefront.

Minister Mahato said that Resham Chaudhary, a party leader involved in the Tharuhat movement, was in jail and informed that the Supreme Court would pardon him and release him after the case was settled.
