Constitutional bench formed on the basis of seniority to hear the writ against the Citizenship Ordinance

Kathmandu, June 4: A constitutional bench has been constituted in the Supreme Court on the basis of seniority to hear the writ petition against the citizenship ordinance.

A bench comprising Justices Deepak Kumar Karki, Mira Khadka, Harikrishna Karki and Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada has been formed under the chairmanship of Chief Justice Cholendra Shamser Rana

Judge Biswambhar shrestha is in the 2nd rank of seniority after Chief Justice Rana. But Shrestha is in home isolation , so Khatiwada includes in bench which is in the next priority.

After a dispute over the constitutional bench set up to hear the writ petitions against the dissolution of the parliament this time, Chief Justice Rana had expressed his commitment to form the bench on the basis of seniority with the representative of the Nepal Bar Association.
According to the same commitment, today’s session has been formed. The writ petition against the dissolution of the parliament is scheduled to be heard on Sunday. Everybody is interested in how the bench of that day is formed.
